| So does anyone actually go on xanga anymore? Or has facebook officially taken over for good?

| So finals have sort of officially started. I've already had my acting final which was fun but also was four hours long. I did a monologue where I was this drug addict kid who does all kinds of crazy shit and for my scene I was an angry lesbian whose partner has told her that she thinks she's straight or that she just wants to see men. So yeah, it was a blast and a half! On monday, I have my dance recital which is kind of scaring me, considering we didn't really finish the choreography, we just kinda trail offstage, but whatever, I'm gonna be a pretty ballerina princess, dammit! After that, it's just my presentation about Cocaine for my Latin American politics class and then voice and costuming. And then.......HOME! I'm so excited, you have no idea. I think it's because I need to step away from a lot of issues right now and get a better perspective once I can talk to my peeps about it. Other than that, no more news on the exciting relationship front (surprise, surprise) but I have learned that I can get pretty friendly when I get tipsy. This happened the other night when I went to a James Bond christmas party and had a bit of wine. Unfortunately, for all you peeps back home, I'm also a smart drunk and know when I'm about to make a bad decision. I went home early that night and sobered up before going to bed. So far, I'm three for three when it comes to not getting a hangover. Anywho, I need to go write my Orientation to Theatre paper and shall return to the web soon.... | | |
| Or is it nineteen now? Whatever, I'm very close to the time when I can go home! Of course, that still means finals but I only really have one because my other two don't count (it's just a presentation and a monologue). Thanksgiving was a blast and a half - went to a fancy shmancy restaurant with a friend of mine and her mom and then came back and watched Friends all weekend instead of researching for my project about cocaine. I also went to go see Flushed Away (after my thanksgiving shopping for family - I'm such a girl now, I've come to really love shopping if things are on sale) which was a hilarious and cute little movie. My friends and I were the only people there who were older than 7 and did not have kids. It was a blast! But everything is so expensive over here! I swear, nachos and a drink was $10.50 which still blows my mind! Anywho, at work now, so I better go look busy.... | | |
| So, today has been pretty much awesome, even if it's been one of the toughest days (AND someone stole my Harry Potter boxers from out of my bag! I had to dance in just my leotard which was pretty embarrassing....I keep forgetting that the real world isn't York and I can't just leave my stuff in classrooms...) I had my one and only midterm today in costuming and I think I aced it - even on the question I didn't know, I guessed and I think I at least got half credit. Then I had Acting I and we finally moved on from monologues and started doing actual scenes! I was getting kinda bored with just watching people again and again. Even though I made some pretty good progress on my own monologue. I went from there to choir, where we actually worked on the music, even if my throat was ready to die. Then I had ballet and we started choreography for our recital at the end of the semester (and I'm almost able to do the splits!). After that, I had a voice lesson where I kicked major butt because I wasn't nervous at singing at all! My voice DID crack, but that was because I strained it in choir, and after I sang the song again, I was fine. Now I'm at the library, I've done the study group for which I am being paid and I am about to be in a student film for the first time! Although my dirty boxers were stolen, I still have had a blast today, especially hanging out with my friends. Mostly because they said that they will kick the ass of whoever stole my boxers. Oh, and I forgot that I also went to the gym and climbed the rock wall there which was an AMAZING workout! I think the endorphins are still kicking in because I'm still feeling really happy and energized. So, I'm going to the gym tomorrow for the fitness marathon where they're giving out free food and massages (I could get used to this massage thing - we did a massage circle in ballet today). Hopefully, this will mean more crunches, elliptical machine and rock wall! I'm beginning to love exercising! | | |
| So, the show premiered and went about as smooth as sandpaper. Except for the dressers. That would be moi. Everything went smooth for us. It was still a good show though. And the cast party was pretty fun, even if I didn't stay long. Luckily, I was with my friends Christina, Craig, and Nicole and none of them were drinking so we left kind of early. They had buttloads of candy in the costume shop so I was already pretty wired and I didn't want to drink anything after that. Besides, when I get really tired, it seems like I'm drunk, so close enough. I'm just surprised that the show only runs for two weekends....I thought it would do more than that. But I guess they have to start rehearsals for Crucible. And I have to finish up costumes. I'm also going to go see a new show called Gemini Rising by David Geist whose here working on it with actors. Should be pretty cool...I'm kind of upset that I didn't audition but I didn't know any of the songs and I had already done two auditions before that and was kind of dead. Anywho, I have to go to Smiths and pick up some shtuff for the dorm room... | | |
